Lawmakers Want to Ban VPNs. We Need Your Support to Stop them
Utah is the first state in the nation to target VPNs with the full force of the law. We knew officials would eventually come for VPNs, because they can get around mandated age gates. Utah passed the first age verification law for social media, and now it's set to make history with another invasive, dangerous, and deeply unnecessary law.
But we are not powerless! In February, VPN users and experts like EFF explained to the Wisconsin legislature why a similar law wouldn't work. They threw out the language, and we won! Now, we need your help to continue that fight when it comes to other states. EFF is a donor-supported organization: Our technologists need your support to write clear explanations about the technical failures of bans like these. EFF's activists need your donations to rally support and kill these bills in their tracks. And when you join EFF as a member at the Titanium Level, it helps our lawyers write the arguments that win in court to stop laws like this from ever taking effect.
Join EFF to support this fight! The Electronic Frontier Foundation’s attorneys, activists, and technologists fight for a digital world that supports freedom, justice, and innovation for all people. EFF is a US 501(c)(3) nonprofit, tax ID #04-3091431.
EFF has received top ratings from the nonprofit watchdog Charity Navigator since 2013! Your donation is tax-deductible as allowed by law.
