D(EFF)CONtest Official Rules

The D(EFF)CONtest is a contest to raise the most money for the Electronic Frontier Foundation between the start of the Contest and 11:59:59 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time on July 4, 2012. Prizes will be awarded to the three registered individuals or teams who raise the most money for EFF according to these rules.

1. Registration

The contest is open only to legal residents of the United States who are twenty-one years or older at time of registration. You may wish to support a team. A team must have a team captain, who is the online registrant and official recipient of any prize. However, the team captain may distribute portions of the prize to other team members. Employees, fellows and interns of EFF, their immediate families, and those domiciled with any of the foregoing are not eligible.

Contestants are required to register under a first and last name with email. Because of the competitive aspect of the Contest, these registered participant names (but not addresses) are purposely made visible and cannot be hidden. EFF supports online anonymity; however, this is not the program to anonymously support EFF.
