It's a critical moment in the global debate over privacy, security, and "backdoors" in encryption technology.

Certain members of Congress and the FBI want to force companies to give the government special access to our data. They're pushing short-sighted proposals, like giving the government a "golden key" to unlock our encrypted communications.

These are terrible ideas. It's not possible to give the government special access to our data without creating vulnerabilities that could be exploited by malicious actors and other governments.

President Obama's senior advisors are looking into this issue right now. We need to make sure they hear from technology users like you.

We've launched a campaign through the White House petition site calling on the president to do the right thing.

Obama has promised to respond to any petition that gets 100,000 signatures. We launched less than a week ago, and we already have over 30,000. Can you help us get to 100,000?

Please add your name now, and demand strong, uncompromised encryption.

Fighting for a more secure digital future,
